Annual Wellness Visits:
A wellness examination includes a visual, auditory and hands on evaluation of your pet. During the wellness visit we will ask you questions about your pet’s behavior, appetite, exercise habits, and regular activities at home. We will also discuss diagnostic testing that identifies non-visual problems your animal may have. Information obtained during a wellness examination can help detect early signs of illness and address health issues before they arise. We will then use this information to recommend Vaccines for your individual animal’s needs and any future treatment your pet may require. This visit will also give us the opportunity to address your questions or concerns about your pet. Wellness visits are best done annually to ensure we keep up to date with any changes with your pet.
Sick pet visit:
A complete history of the animal is taken, and a physical exam is performed. We use in-house diagnostic equipment giving us rapid results helping us diagnose your sick pet while you are here. We have available; CBC and Chemistry/Electrolyte Blood analyzers, Urine analysis, Fecal testing for intestinal parasites, and Tick-Borne Diseases/ Heartworm screening. If we need to send to an out-source lab, they have daily pick-up and e-mail the results to us typically by the next business day.
Surgery:
We offer a wide range of surgical procedures at Verona Vet med including but not limited to:
- Spays and Neuters
- Soft tissue surgery
- Mass removal
- Amputation
To reduce complications during and after the surgical procedure we provide the following care:
- A detailed pre-surgical exam and blood work is done to detect any unseen problems before anesthesia and surgery.
- I.V. lines are placed for rapid administration of fluids and medicines.
- We offer two types of anesthesia: Gas anesthesia is used for longer procedures. Short-acting reversible injectable anesthetics are used for short procedures.
Our technicians monitor our patients continuously using our state-of-the-art equipment. We offer A surgical laser that is used to reduce pain and bleeding. Pain medications are prescribed for use during post-surgery recovery.
Advanced imaging:
We offer both in-house ultra-sound and digital x-ray imaging to help diagnose your pets needs.
Exotic pet wellness, surgery, or sick pet visit:
We now offer wellness, surgery and sick pet visits for exotic animals including but not limited to: mice, rats, guinea pigs, lizards, snakes, rabbits, birds, and aquatic animals!

This exam will be used to determine future treatments that may be needed for your pet.
- Sick pet: A complete history of the animal is taken, and a physical exam is performed. If a test is needed that we do not provide in-house, we will partner with an outsourced lab. These results will typically be available the next day.
- Surgery: We offer some surgical care for our exotic patients. Detailed pre-surgical exam is done to detect any unseen problems before anesthesia and surgery. Our technicians will then monitor our patients continuously using our state-of-the-art equipment. We offer A surgical laser that is used to reduce pain and bleeding. Pain medications are prescribed as needed for use during post-surgery recovery.
Dentistry:
Pets need regular care for their teeth. Dental diseases can have an impact on a pet’s overall health leading to pain, heart, kidney and liver disease. Our dental services include all the care provided during surgery as well as, ultrasonic scaling and polishing, digital radiographs, detailed assessments, tooth extractions and oral surgery.
Pharmacy:
We maintain an inventory of primary medications for use in companion animals. We always have Heartworm Prevention and Flea/ Tick products on the shelf so you can take them home with you or stop in when you need them. Calling ahead for refills or using our vet 2 pet app ensures we will have the medication ready when you arrive. If we do not regularly stock the medication you are looking for please allow 1-3 business days for delivery.
Prescription Foods:
We carry a variety of Hill’s Science Diet, Royal Canin and Purina prescription diets. If there is an item, we do not have in stock or regularly stock the item you are looking for we can order it specially for you! Please allow 1-3 business days for delivery.
